Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist, is also an author. She founded The Huffington Post, is the founder and CEO of Thrive Global as well an author of fifteen novels. Arianna Huffington is a philanthropist and author television host, and proprietor of the independent liberal online newspaper The Huffington Post. Her birthplace is Greece Arianna Huffington immigrated to England with her family when she was 16 years old. In Cambridge University she earned a MA qualification in Economics. The first graduate who was not from the UK to hold the office of president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. The years that followed after her college graduation, she became an important conservative syndicated journalist. After a few years later, she founded The Huffington Post which featured an unbiased critique of the politics. Arianna was able to attract numerous prominent contributors who shared their thoughts on culture and political issues. Arianna became famous after she decided in 2003 to be an independent candidate in the California Recall election to succeed Governor Davis. In addition to this she was also the director of the Detroit Project for fuel-efficient cars. Forbes listed her as the 12th most influential women in the media industry in 2009 and Guardian also ranked her on the Top 100 List of Media during the same year. In 2011, AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post and made her president of the media group which included many then-existing AOL properties too such as Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. Elli is the child of Konstantinos the journalist who was also a business consultant. While she was closely associated with her father, it was the relationship she shared with her mother that shaped her life. She displayed leadership qualities throughout her childhood. After the 16th year of her life she began her study within her native United Kingdom at Girton College Cambridge. She joined The Cambridge Union college debate society as a student as she was the third female to hold the position of the president. She graduated in 1972 with master's degrees in Economics. The years that followed the graduation ceremony, she became an anchor on television and a columnist. In addition, she was a part of an episode of Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books taking editorial help from the latter.
